Cookie policy

Zettl platform

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit websites. They are used to ensure functionality, security, and a usable experience.

2. Legal basis and cookie banner (consent)

Under Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the “ePrivacy” Directive) and its implementation in Czech law (Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on electronic communications), storing information on a terminal equipment or accessing it is generally subject to the user’s consent, except where storage or access is strictly necessary for transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network or strictly necessary to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the user.

The Zettl platform sets only two cookies, and both remember a setting you choose yourself: the site language and whether the sidebar is collapsed (see below). Your sign-in is kept in browser storage (see section 6). Such storage falls under this exception — it does not require prior consent via a cookie banner in the sense of typical marketing/analytics consent tools.

We do not use third‑party analytics, marketing, or advertising cookies that would require your explicit consent before storage. Therefore we do not deploy a cookie banner to collect consent for optional cookies — we do not process any such cookies.

Note: The ePrivacy framework interacts with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Cookies and browser storage may still relate to personal data processing under the GDPR; see our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Cookies we use

The table lists every cookie the platform sets. Each is created only when you change that setting yourself. Your sign-in and other interface settings are kept in browser storage — see section 6.

TypeName / purposeLifetimeSet
Preferencesidebar:state — whether the app's sidebar is collapsed or expanded7 daysAt your request
Preferencezettl_lang — the site language (cs/en), so the home page opens in the language you chose; set only when you switch the language yourself1 yearAt your request

4. No analytics or marketing cookies

The Zettl platform does not use third‑party analytics, remarketing, or advertising cookies (e.g. audience measurement for ads). If this changes in the future, you will be informed before such cookies are stored and, where required, asked for separate consent in accordance with applicable law.

5. Managing cookies

Keeping your sign-in in browser storage (section 6) cannot be declined, because you cannot sign in without it. Preference cookies are created only when you switch the language or the sidebar yourself.

You can manage or delete cookies via your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Note: Clearing browser storage signs you out of the platform; deleting cookies resets the language and sidebar to their defaults.

6. Browser storage and web fonts

Your sign-in (the Supabase Auth access and refresh tokens) is stored in your browser's localStorage and kept until you sign out; it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. The platform also uses localStorage and sessionStorage for display preferences and application state. These are not HTTP cookies and are not used for cross-site tracking. The platform also loads web fonts (Sora) from the Google Fonts CDN — these are network requests, not cookies, but may transmit your IP address to Google LLC (transfer under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

7. Changes to this policy

We will notify you of changes via notices on the platform.

More information on personal data processing is in our Privacy Policy.
