Fio banka payments, automatically, through the Fio API
Create an account-monitoring API token in Fio internet banking and paste it into Zettl. From then on Zettl downloads new movements every morning and matches them with documents. It cannot send payments.
How it works
Create a token at Fio
Fio internet banking → Settings → API → new token with the “Account monitoring” permission. Fio confirms it by SMS or push notification.
Paste it into Zettl
Under Settings → Banks & integrations, add the account and the token. Zettl stores it encrypted.
New payments every morning
Once a day Zettl downloads the last 45 days of movements and adds what it does not have yet. You can also start a sync by hand.
And matching straight after
After the download Zettl looks for receipts and invoices for the payments and matches incoming payments with issued invoices by variable symbol.
Good to know
- Without extra authorization Fio's API only releases the last 90 days. Upload older movements as a GPC/ABO statement.
- A Fio token covers one account: add your CZK and EUR accounts separately.
- The Start plan connects 2 Fio accounts, Firma 10.
- Zettl only calls the parts of the Fio API that read movements and statements. The token is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
- Zettl supports Fio banka only. Other banks cannot be connected.

Which permission does the Fio API token need?
“Account monitoring” is enough. Zettl neither needs nor uses the right to send payments. If you also want to download Fio's PDF statements from Zettl, enable PDF statement download for the token at Fio too.
How long is a token valid?
You set the validity at Fio when you create the token. If you turn on extending the validity at login, every login to internet banking extends it.
How often does Zettl download payments?
Automatically once a day, in the morning. You can start a download by hand any time in between, on the dashboard or at the account in settings.
Can Zettl send money from my account?
No. Zettl has no function for sending payments and only calls the interfaces that read movements and statements. You can revoke the token at Fio any time.
