Import a GPC / ABO statement from Fio banka

GPC (ABO) is the electronic statement format you download in Fio internet banking. In Zettl you upload it for periods the Fio API won't release without authorization: the payments are added without duplicates and Zettl matches them with documents.

How it works

  1. Download the statement at Fio

In Fio internet banking choose the statement for the period and the GPC (ABO) format.

  2. Upload it to Zettl

Transactions → Import / Export → GPC statement. Zettl accepts .gpc, .abo and .txt files.

  3. Checked before saving

Zettl shows a preview of the payments and checks that opening balance, turnovers and closing balance agree.

  4. No duplicates

The same statement uploaded twice adds nothing twice. Payments Zettl already downloaded through the Fio API are skipped.

Good to know

  • Zettl reads records 074 (statement header) and 075 (movement), encoded windows-1250. One file may hold several statements.
  • Zettl skips the extra message records (078, 079). It builds the payment description from the counterparty, variable symbol and account number.
  • GPC carries no currency: Zettl reads the statement as CZK.
  • Besides GPC/ABO, Zettl also accepts a CSV statement.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers on this topic.

Why upload GPC if the Fio API is connected?

Without extra authorization Fio's API only releases the last 90 days. Older movements, say the whole of last year, come in as a GPC (ABO) statement.

Won't payments Zettl already has from the API be duplicated?

No. Every statement line gets a stable identifier, so uploading again adds nothing, and payments already in Zettl from the Fio API are skipped. Two genuine payments of the same amount on the same day both stay.

Can I upload a GPC statement from another bank?

Zettl is built for Fio banka, and the GPC import is built and tested for it. Zettl does not support other banks.

Which details does Zettl read from the statement?

Date, amount, the counterparty's account number and bank code, counterparty name, and the variable, constant and specific symbols.

Let your payments match themselves

Connect your Fio account and Zettl finds the documents for your payments. The first 14 days are free, no card needed.
