Foreign-currency invoices and the ČNB rate

Issue an invoice in Zettl in CZK, EUR, USD or GBP. When you export it to ISDOC, Zettl loads the ČNB daily rate for the taxable supply date and gives the amounts in the foreign currency and in CZK.

How it works

  1. Issue the invoice in its currency

In the invoice form choose the currency: CZK, EUR, USD or GBP.

  2. Export to ISDOC

For each foreign-currency invoice Zettl requests the ČNB rate for the taxable supply date, or the issue date when the invoice has none.

  3. Amounts in both currencies

The ISDOC carries the foreign currency, the rate and every amount both in that currency and converted to CZK.

  4. Payment in that currency

Connect your Fio EUR account separately and Zettl matches payments in its currency.

Good to know

  • ČNB publishes no new rate on weekends and holidays; the last published rate applies, and Zettl uses it.
  • Invoices issued in Zettl have no taxable-supply-date field yet, so their rate is taken for the issue date. Invoices moved over from Fakturoid do carry the date.
  • Zettl uses the rate in the ISDOC export. The invoice PDF shows amounts only in the invoice currency, without a CZK conversion.
  • Invoicing is part of the Firma plan.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers on this topic.

Which ČNB rate applies to a foreign-currency invoice?

In the ISDOC export Zettl uses the ČNB daily rate for the taxable supply date, or the issue date when the invoice has none. On a day with no published rate, the last published rate applies.

Which currencies can I invoice in?

Czech crowns, euros, US dollars and British pounds.

Does the invoice PDF show the CZK equivalent?

Not yet. The PDF shows amounts in the invoice currency; the ČNB rate and the CZK amounts are in the ISDOC export.
