Zettl and iDoklad: invoicing, or matching Fio payments?
iDoklad is an online invoicing program: invoices, recurring invoices, reminders and payment records. Zettl downloads the payments from your Fio account through the API every day and looks for receipts and invoices for the outgoing ones. If invoicing is your main job, iDoklad is the more natural fit; if you need a document for every Fio payment, Zettl is. They also work side by side.
How it works
You mostly invoice
Lots of issued invoices, recurring invoices, reminders: that is what iDoklad is built for.
You mostly pay
Lots of card and transfer payments from Fio for which your accountant wants a document: that is what Zettl is built for.
Both at once
You can keep invoicing in iDoklad and use Zettl for Fio payments and received documents; the Start plan without invoicing is enough.
Invoices as ISDOC
You can load issued invoices from another program into Zettl as ISDOC files (Firma plan).
iDoklad and Zettl side by side
Main job
- iDoklad
- Invoicing: invoices, recurring invoices, reminders, payment records
- Zettl
- Fio payments and their documents: matching, what's missing, files for the accountant
How payments arrive
- iDoklad
- From the bank's e-mail notifications, for most banks including Fio; pairs mainly by variable symbol with issued invoices
- Zettl
- Through the Fio API every day; matches outgoing payments with received documents and incoming ones with issued invoices
Received documents
- iDoklad
- Inbox: received invoices from e-mail or a photo, reads ISDOC and QR; AI reading has a few documents free, more paid
- Zettl
- The company's @zettl.cz address; AI reading is in the plan up to a monthly limit
For the accountant
- iDoklad
- The accountant as a user; XML, ISDOC, Excel, CSV export; links to Money, Pohoda and Vario
- Zettl
- Invite the accountant; the month's documents as PDF, export for Pohoda (ZIP with XML), ISDOC, CSV
Trying it
- iDoklad
- 60 days free, no card; a free plan for 5 customers
- Zettl
- 14 days free, no card; then from 150 Kč a month
Good to know
- Zettl works only with Fio banka. With an account at another bank, iDoklad, which supports more banks, is the better choice.
- iDoklad states its prices excluding VAT; Zettl is not VAT registered, so its prices are final.
- Zettl does no bookkeeping and doesn't replace invoicing programs; it prepares payments and documents for the accountant.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers on this topic.
Can I use iDoklad and Zettl at the same time?
Yes. You can keep issuing invoices in iDoklad and use Zettl to download Fio payments and match them with received documents. The Start plan is enough for that.
Can I get my iDoklad invoices into Zettl?
According to its own pages iDoklad exports to ISDOC, and Zettl can import issued invoices from ISDOC, with a preview and skipping those already in Zettl. The import is part of the Firma plan.
My account is at a bank other than Fio. What makes sense for me?
Zettl only downloads payments from Fio banka, so with another bank it won't help you. According to its own pages, iDoklad supports several Czech banks.
